Talisman is a creative and film studio founded by Jem Goulding; executive creative director, award-winning filmmaker, and editorial commissioner whose career has spanned fashion, culture, sport, technology and activism.
At its core, Talisman works with the alchemy of image and text, the way a story, told with resonance, can move culture rather than decorate it. For over 15 years Jem has directed films and shaped campaigns, both digital and live, for Nike, Headspace, Mini Cooper, Yves Saint Laurent, Coors Light, Microsoft, Vogue, Nowness and Bank of America. Her practice draws from compelling audiences with social-first storytelling, cinematic craft, and editorial intelligence to make work that doesn’t chase the zeitgeist, but bends it.
As founder and Chief Creative Vision, Jem has globally assembled nimble, high-performing teams to build bold campaigns and immersive content systems. Her work spans short-form video, experiential activations, and cross-functional editorial platforms designed to empower engagement and drive cultural and commercial impact.
Beyond advertising, Jem’s independent projects reveal the depth and range of her storytelling prowess. She has been nominated for a Fulbright award for her documentary work, designed the Futurist AIR program for the Esalen Institute, and is published widely as a journalist and poet. These pursuits inform Talisman’s creative philosophy: that the best work listens first, speaks with precision and soul, and leaves a lasting impression long after the curtain falls.
Talisman exists to tell stories that cut through the noise; cinematic, unflinching, and always alive to the moment.
